Nightmares For VP Kamala Harris As Trump Receives 2 Major Endorsements Hours After DNC
Georgia Governor Brian Kemp has thrown his support behind former President Donald Trump for the 2024 presidential election hours before Independent Candidate RKF JR. hinted on joining Trump.
Kemp’s endorsement came during a prime-time interview on Sean Hannity’s Fox News show on Thursday, August 22, 2024, marking a significant turnaround in a relationship once marked by public disputes and disagreements.
“Well, Sean, look, we gotta win. We gotta win from the top of the ticket on down,” Kemp stated during the interview.
“I’ve been saying consistently for a long time, we cannot afford another four years of Joe Biden and Kamala Harris, and I think Kamala Harris and Tim Walz could be even worse. So we need to send Donald Trump back to the White House.”
Kemp’s endorsement is a dramatic reversal for the Georgia governor, who previously resisted backing Trump, especially after refusing to support the former president’s efforts to contest the 2020 election results in Georgia.
The fallout from that decision led to Trump supporting Kemp’s primary challenger in the 2022 gubernatorial race—a contest Kemp ultimately won.
The newfound unity between the two Republicans signals an effort to mend fences within the GOP ahead of the 2024 election.
For Kemp, the endorsement could help strengthen his standing within the party by aligning with Trump’s base, while Trump benefits from consolidating support across different factions.
According to a source close to the situation, Trump approved of Kemp’s appearance on Hannity’s show, seeing it as a step toward cooperation in the crucial battleground state of Georgia.
In a post on Truth Social, Trump expressed gratitude, writing, “Thank you to #BrianKempGA for all of your help and support in Georgia, where a win is so important to the success of our Party and, most importantly, our Country. I look forward to working with you, your team, and all of my friends in Georgia to help MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!”
With the 2024 election approaching, Georgia remains a critical swing state. It played a decisive role in the 2020 election when President Joe Biden won by a narrow margin, flipping the state for the first time in nearly three decades.
As both Trump and Vice President Kamala Harris eye Georgia for their campaigns, the state’s political landscape is set to be a key battleground once again.
