“Fox News Shocks Viewers with New Trump-Harris Prediction in 2 Key States—This Could Change Everything!”
Fox News has shifted its presidential election forecast in two key battleground states in the wake of Tuesday’s debate between former President Trump and Vice President Harris.
Fox News’s “Power Rankings” now show the swing states of North Carolina and Georgia as “toss-up” states as of Thursday. Fox anchor Bill Hemmer said Thursday that with North Carolina and Georgia, there are now six “toss-up” states up for grabs.
This means that it is still anyone’s race. The six toss-up states are Georgia, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, Arizona, Wisconsin, and Nevada, according to Fox News.
“We believe right now that North Carolina and Georgia have had a shift. They’ve had some movement. So I want to direct your attention down to the southeastern corner of the country. Georgia and North Carolina are considered toss-ups,” Hemmer said Thursday on Fox News.
“So we will now put them in the same category that we had four other states for some time. Nevada and Arizona, no change. Wisconsin, Pennsylvania, no change,” he said.
He noted that the swing state of Michigan is still considered to be leaning Democrat. He also emphasized that while Pennsylvania carries a significant amount of electoral votes, states like Georgia and North Carolina should not be discounted.
“These are the areas that we are going to watch, 78 electoral votes among six different states and how they break. I would say Pennsylvania, 19 electoral votes is the biggest batch in this list here,” he said.
“But don’t overlook Georgia, 16 electoral votes. North Carolina, 16 electoral votes, taken together at 32 right? Okay, so they matter. They matter in a significant way,” he added.
Hemmer said that Fox’s current forecast shows Harris in the lead with 241 electoral votes compared to Trump’s 219 votes.
A handful of post-debate polls found Harris to be the winner of Tuesday’s showdown. Many national polls have found her closing the gap with Trump as the two barrel toward November’s election.
The Harris campaign quickly called for a second debate with the former president after Tuesday’s event, but Trump has maintained that he has no interest in doing a third presidential debate.
Fox News noted that it may take a few weeks to determine the impact the debate may have had on the race. According to the outlet, the first 2024 presidential debate between Trump and President Biden resulted in a 2-point drop for Biden and a one-point drop for Trump.
