“Dough Emhoff’s Ex-Wife Rallies Behind ‘Mamala’ Kamala Harris After Shocking ‘Childless’ Attack from Arkansas Governor!”
The Second Gentleman, Doug Emhoff’s ex-wife has once again defended Vice President Kamala Harris after Arkansas Gov. Sarah Huckabee Sanders attacked the VP for not having any biological children. During a town hall event in Flint, Michigan with former President Donald Trump, Sanders slammed Harris for only having stepchildren and not having any biological children of her own.
“My kids keep me humble, Unfortunately, Kamala Harris doesn’t have anything keeping her humble.” Sanders, who also served as White House Press Secretary under Trump, said.
Kerstin Emhoff, who was married to Doug Emhoff for over 15 years, was quick to defend Harris on social media following the event saying that her time as a public servant has kept her humble throughout her life.
“Cole and Ella keep us inspired to make the world a better place,” she wrote. “I do it through storytelling. Kamala Harris has spent her entire career working for the people, ALL families. That keeps you pretty humble,” Kerstin wrote.
Doug and Kerstin Emhoff married in 1992 and have two children together, Cole and Ella Emhoff. The two divorced in 2010 and Doug married Harris in 2014. The vice president since has been a parent to both children and they reportedly refer to Harris as “Momala.”
Since the marriage Kerstin has remained a constant supporter of Harris both personally and politically, including attending the 2021 inauguration of her as Vice President. She defended Harris when J.D Vance, the Republican vice presidential candidate, made his now famous “childless cat lady” attacks at the VP back in July. Kerstin told CNN that Harris has been a “co-parent” with her and Doug since their children were teenagers.
“I love our blended family and am grateful to have her in it,” Kerstin said. Their daughter, Ella, 25, now works as a fashion designer and artist also defended her stepmother on Instagram after the “cat lady” comment.
“How can you be ‘childless’ when you have cutie pie kids like Cole and I?” she wrote.
Vance’s comments resurfaced from a 2021 Fox News interview when he was running for U.S. Senate. Vance said that the country is being run by “childless cat ladies who are miserable at their own lives and the choices that that they’ve made and so they want to make the rest of the country miserable too.”
“Look at Kamala Harris, Pete Buttigieg, AOC, the entire future of the Democrats is controlled by people without children,” he added.
Taylor Swift in an Instagram post endorsing Harris for president alluded to Vance’s comments as well, signing off her post saying “Taylor Swift, Childless Cat Lady.”
