Kamala Harris Unstoppable: Brushes Off Trump Chants at Fiery Labor Day Rally!

PITTSBURGH, PENNSYLVANIA: Democratic Presidential candidate Kamala Harris has repeatedly been hearing ‘Lock Him Up’ chants whenever she refers to the ongoing criminal cases against Donald Trump.

Harris was similarly interrupted during her speech at a Labor Day campaign rally at the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW) in Pittsburgh on Monday, September 2, as a crowd member shouted, “He’s going to jail”, referencing her political opponent, Donald Trump, as per The Daily Beast.

For some time now, it has become a recurring scene during Kamala Harris’ campaign rallies that whenever she talks about Trump, the crowd begins to chant, “Lock! Him! Up!” and it has happened in various events. 

During a rally in Eau Claire, Wisconsin, last month, the Vice President addressed chants of ‘lock him up’ directed at the former president, urging the crowds to let the courts handle Trump’s legal issues. After an introduction by President Joe Biden, Kamala Harris spoke to the crowd mainly focusing on her case that an administration under her would be more beneficial to workers than her opponent, Donald Trump.

She said, “As we fight to move forward, Donald Trump is trying to pull us backward, including back to a time before workers had the freedom to organize.” As she said this, a member of the crowd shouted, “He’s going to jail,” Harris quickly replied, “Well, the courts will handle that, and we will handle November, how about that?”

She added, “We’ll handle November, let the courts handle that other thing, but we’re not going back.” 

Trump did not hit the campaign trail on Sunday, September 1, or Monday. Instead, he took to the social media platform Truth Social to wish his supporters a happy Labor Day while taking aim at his opponent.

He posted, “Happy Labor Day to all of our American Workers who represent the Shining Example of Hard Work and Ingenuity. Under Comrade Kamala Harris, all Americans are suffering during this holiday weekend: high gas prices, transportation costs, and grocery prices are through the roof. We can’t keep living under this weak and failed ‘Leadership’.”

Kamala Harris says US Steel should be owned domestically

Kamala Harris said during the event that US Steel should be owned domestically and opposed the company’s purchase by the Japanese-owned Nippon Steel, per CNN.

She said, “The president mentioned it: US Steel is a historic American company, and it is vital for our nation to maintain strong American steel companies. And I couldn’t agree more with President Biden, US Steel should remain American-owned and American-operated.” Harris’ remarks largely echoed an earlier event in Detroit, where she emphasized the “dignity of work” and promised to strengthen protections for collective bargaining to a crowd of union members and leaders as she drew sharp contrasts with Trump.

She said in Michigan, “We celebrate unions because unions helped build America, and unions helped build America’s middle class.”

People on the internet applauded Kamala Harris for her quick and reasonable response as a crowd member shouted “he’s going to jail” while referencing Donald Trump during her Labor Day rally event.
