Residents of Charleroi, Pennsylvania, fiercely confronted a right-wing YouTuber who visited the town to report on unfounded claims made by Donald Trump about an influx of Haitian immigrants. Tyler Oliveria, a conservative influencer from California, attempted to film content supporting Trump’s remarks, but locals were quick to voice their frustrations.

During a campaign event last month, Trump name-dropped Charleroi, alleging that the town had been “overrun” by Haitian immigrants, causing it to become “virtually bankrupt.” Despite local officials debunking these claims, Oliveria, whose YouTube channel boasts 1.8 million subscribers, traveled to the area to speak with residents. What he encountered was open hostility and mockery from locals who were unimpressed by his attempts to stir controversy. report from Yahoo.

One resident bluntly called Oliveria out during an on-the-street interview, shouting, “You’re embarrassing your mother!” The interaction quickly turned comical when the resident noticed Oliveria drinking an energy drink and began questioning him. “You’re silly, look at you, drinkin’ Monsters. You got a girlfriend?” he asked, prompting Oliveria to respond, “I like Monster!”

“Bet you don’t got a girlfriend! Call her right now!” the man challenged. When Oliveria failed to respond, the resident doubled down, chanting, “Bet! Bet! BET! BET YOU DON’T GOT A GIRLFRIEND, BOY! Bet. On camera, you’re a clown!”

As the exchange continued, Oliveria found himself caught in another confrontation when a woman walking by took issue with his presence in the town. “You don’t need to be in Charleroi about these poor Haitian people,” she shouted. “Making money, and they work FUCKING hard.”

Oliveria attempted to respond, but the woman walked away, asserting, “This is my motherfucking town, bitch. I run this fucking town!” Trying to lighten the situation, Oliveria awkwardly quipped, “Well, good to know we met the mayor.”

Despite his attempts to steer the conversation, another resident warned Oliveria to expect pushback when engaging in divisive behavior. “Bro, you just need to understand, you’re going to mature. Understand the fact that what you’re doing, you should expect this to happen,” the man said. Oliveria asked, “I can’t come here and have a conversation with you?” to which the resident advised, “But keep your composure.”

Oliveria’s visit to Charleroi mirrors a similar trip he made to Springfield, Ohio, where he reported on debunked rumors claiming Haitian immigrants were eating neighborhood pets. That video, described as classic right-wing propaganda, featured interviews with locals spouting racist rhetoric, along with misleading AI-generated images and unrelated footage from Haiti. told by BBC.

As Oliveria’s latest attempt to stir controversy in Charleroi shows, many communities are not receptive to outsiders spreading false narratives, especially when such claims are rooted in misinformation about immigrant populations.
