Prince Harry ‘enjoying’ solo trips after feeling ‘overshadowed’ by Meghan Markle

Prince Harry is reportedly thriving in his new independent lifestyle, enjoying solo engagements and stepping back into the spotlight without the constant presence of Meghan Markle. According to an insider, the Duke of Sussex is rediscovering his confidence and comfort in public appearances, following recent solo trips to New York City, the United Kingdom, and Africa.

“Ever since moving to America, it’s taken Harry a long time to feel comfortable and confident enough to go out on his own, and he is really enjoying this new way of life,” a source shared with OK!. This shift marks a significant change for Harry, who has typically relied on Meghan during public events since their move to the U.S. “Before, he always used Meghan as a bit of a security blanket as he felt quite lost in his new role, which was completely different to his old royal life and what he had been used to,” the source explained.

The Duke’s adjustment to life away from the British Royal Family has taken time, but now he appears to be stepping into his own once again. The source continued, “He was always happy to let Meghan take the limelight as she thrived in big public events, and he would take her lead. He did feel overshadowed at times, but he was happy for that while he adjusted to a whole new way of life.”

This new independence has caught the attention of royal experts as well. Commentator Duncan Larcombe noted that Harry’s recent solo appearances have shown a return to the dynamic and engaging figure he was before his marriage. “We’ve seen him on some jobs where he hasn’t looked his normal self when he’s with her,” Larcombe said, referring to Harry’s joint appearances with Meghan. “We’ve seen a glimpse of the old Prince Harry. When Harry was doing solo jobs before he met Meghan, he was by far the best at it.”

Larcombe added, “William is good, but Harry had that X-Factor that I don’t think many people have had over the years. We don’t even see glimpses of that when he’s working with Meghan.”

Harry’s recent solo tour included a trip to Lesotho in Africa, where he supported the Sentebale charity, a cause close to his heart. Meanwhile, Meghan Markle also made a solo public appearance, attending a gala for the Children’s Hospital L.A.

As Harry continues to forge his own path in this “new way of life,” it seems both he and Meghan are comfortable exploring their individual interests and responsibilities, a departure from the tightly-knit public image they had maintained in the early years of their marriage.
