Vance Put on Notice, Told Unfriendly Move Trump Might Soon Make Regarding Kennedy
GOP nominee Donald Trump might unleash a surprise in October, which could spell trouble for his running mate, J.D. Vance, a conservative columnist warned on Saturday, August 24.
The remark came during an MSNBC segment where columnist Jennifer Rubin discussed the potential impact of Robert F. Kennedy Jr.’s endorsement of Trump on the presidential race.
Rubin has previously been a staunch conservative but has since shifted her stance.
The host highlighted recent national poll averages, showing that before Vice President Harris took over as the Democratic frontrunner, Trump was leading President Joe Biden with Kennedy in the race.
Rubin responded by noting that public sentiment towards Kennedy has become increasingly negative.
She pointed out that the more people learn about Kennedy the more they try to distance themselves from him.
“The more people learn about Bobby Kennedy, the more they seem unwilling to support him,” she observed. She then suggested that Kennedy’s alignment with Trump could be significant.
Rubin speculated that Trump might use Kennedy as part of a strategic move in October, urging Vance to be on the look out or risk finding himself in trouble.
“If I were J.D. Vance, I would stay on alert because Trump could very well pull a surprise involving Kennedy,” she stated.
She also described Kennedy as being “bizarre in every sense of the term,” indicating her belief that he might play a pivotal role in Trump’s campaign strategy.
Kennedy joined Trump for a rally at the Desert Diamond Arena in Glendale, Arizona, where Trump, 78, praised the 70-year-old Kennedy as an “incredible champion” for American values.
He further called him “highly respected” and “a great person”, who has run a great campaign for the the time he has been in the White House race as an independent aspirant.
“Bobby has run an extraordinary campaign for the past 16 months,” he said.
Kennedy is reported to be eyeing the Health docket in a possible Trump government, with their decision to come together following reports that Kennedy had approached Democratic candidate Kamala Harris with a similar proposal before.
