TUSCALOOSA, ALABAMA: Former president Donald Trump was welcomed by a cheering crowd as he attended the college football game between the University of Alabama and the University of Georgia at the Bryant-Denny Stadium in Tuscaloosa on Saturday, September 28, the New York Post reported.

Supporters of the GOP nominee broke out into cries of “USA! USA!” upon spotting him in the arena. Trump was also seen tossing boxes of popcorn at his supporters, a moment that was captured and uploaded on social media by his advisor Dan Scavino Jr.

The showdown between Alabama Crimson Tide and Georgia Bulldogs was one of the most anticipated college games of the season, and the host state emerged victorious with 41-34.

Since Trump reportedly faced two apparent assassination attempts in recent months, his security measure was considerably amped up so he could attend the game in person, according to the Daily Mail.

The well-wishers cheering for Trump in the concourse when he threw packets of food and posed for selfies were placed behind a protective steel gate. After greeting his fans, he made his way through a fenced-off walkway to a bulletproof glass-laden luxury suite to enjoy the match.

Trump had a massive Secret Service detail on him in the arena that has a capacity of more than 100,000, shared the publication.

He was invited to the game by Alabama businessman Ric Mayers and was joined in the suite by him and his family. Others surrounding the former president during the match included Alabama Senators Katie Britt and Tommy Tuberville, ALGOP Chairman John Wahl, Kid Rock, and Herschel Walker, among others.
