Yes, a picture is worth a thousand words and this one chart, if it would be the only thing that would survive some apocalyptic event, would tell future historians or space aliens poking through the ruins of this world, exactly what they need to know about what the United States government of 2025 was all about.
There you have it folks. That’s the merit-based crowd. I didn’t know Kristi Noem was a beauty queen but that makes perfect sense.
This is who we are in 2025. A complete kakistocracy, “government by the least capable.” All that any of these people have in common is that they’re photogenic and they play out well on television.
The camera supposedly doesn’t lie but that’s not true. It lies all the time, either for you or against you. The camera loves some people and it minimizes or detracts from others. This is a well known fact in Hollywood.
So what we have in Washington is a bunch of photogenic, glib, morons. That is the long and the short of it. Television has warped our culture to this level where we are no longer a serious people. That was the message in 2016 but we all chose to say, no, it was a fluke, it was Russian interference. And yes, there was Russian interference. But even with all the interference in the world, Trump would have never have gotten the nomination but for the Republican party being utterly broken.
This time around we lost by 12 votes per precinct and people are saying voter suppression is the reason. That is undoubtedly true as well. But the bottom line is that tens of millions of Americans voted for this complete asshole and this ship of fools he’s staffed the government with, because they like him on some level. They identify with him. They think he will do “great” things, like restore America to a time of white male supremacy.
The greywashing of America, the eradication of all the values that you see enumerated on that wall. They can’t get a paint brush over “fairness” “compassion” “leadership” or “integrity” fast enough.
And we’re not even two weeks into this mess. Trump knows nothing except television. The only honest money he ever made was in television, doing The Apprentice. Every other business endeavor he ever touched fell on its face.
