Opinion: I had a good conversation with…a Trump fan in my family??!!

I’ve been trying to figure out what makes tRump so appealing. There are certain people I don’t discuss politics with because I don’t want to get into arguments (not just disagreements). But this person was the one who brought it up while we were on the phone. It blew my mind because we *did* have an argument a couple of years ago. So I took notes on what this person had to say. The best part is that this person had some of the same viewpoints as I did, just from the “opposite side”.

I detest the Mango Mandarin. I absolutely do because of his grifting and condescension and use of his fans, for lack of a better word. I try very hard to look at both sides but tRump makes me want to scream. The biggest point was that this person thought, and still thinks, that since the Cheesy Poof Traitor Tot is a businessman, he’ll be well suited to run the country. Except he isn’t.

The USA is one hell of a lot different than any of his businesses most of which failed. So, no wonder our country is in a mess. He’s only a ruler for himself. It’s all about what he can do for himself. This part is what I’m having trouble understanding. To me, it seems so OBVIOUS that he is NOT a businessman (hello bankruptcies) and he’s driving the USA into hell.

But, moving on here. Let’s see, what’s next. Hmmmmmmm. How about he really cares for the people in the country? He goes to different places to see what the job is and even goes into those places (what was told to me was a construction site). I think he does it just to get good press. “Look at how he cares about the common man!” Yeah right. He doesn’t give a damn about anyone but himself. My person sees the complete opposite side of the truth.

Doesn’t think J6 was an insurrection. People DIED that day. People trying to protect Congress were so badly injured they could not do their job anymore. And my person wanted to be there for the protest march. Fortunately, when they started breaking windows this person stopped watching.

So I’m pretty sure the protest march was one thing but the “in the building” and everything they did there was not something that this person would have supported. It’s the small things. My person stopped watching. Thank heavens. So even if she didn’t see everything she stopped watching. But it was just a protest march. This word really just kicks me any time it’s mentioned – insurrection.

Okay, moving along again. I’m looking for something in my notes that can be the same, or close to it, for both sides. Ha! This person thinks Obama and Biden destroyed the country. I think the Orangutan did. So it’s all a matter of what goes on that you see, because the media is so carefully slanted one way or another. This person I talked with actually does not like Fox News! That was startling. That was REALLY startling. You go!

Definitely, it’s about the perspective. I used to check in on CNN. I don’t do it half as much anymore. Skim the headlines and I’m good. I really want to form my own opinions, but there are no places to do so that aren’t slanted. I’m wondering what happened to the “straight out just the news” days. *sigh* More again tomorrow, I hope. I have lots of information still to share!
